Tsinghua University Library Partnership

A formal partnership between Cornell University Library and Tsinghua University Library to identify and develop joint opportunities for enhancing scholarship and learning at both universities through collaborative collection building. The partnership will explore collaborative digitization, the sharing of library and technology practices, and working on behalf of each other in negotiating with vendors and others to expand access to materials and services. Tsinghua has purchased duplicate titles from Uris Library and the proceeds from that sale have been used to set up an endowment netting $40,000 per year for the acqusition of books in the humanities.  Also, Tsinghua has been instrumental in introducing Project Euclid to Chinese research libraries.
