Operating on principles of open access and responsible use, the Biodiversity Heritage Library is an international consortium of libraries at natural history museums, botanical gardens and universities. The consortium aims to unlock historical literature in the biological sciences that would otherwise be highly fragmented or possible to view at only a limited number of physical collections. As an active consortium member, Cornell University Library contirbutues digital copies of historical works in the agricultural and life sciences.  Mann Library is spearheading this initiative, drawing from its rich collections in entomology, botany, beekeeping, and general agriculture.
